What TiviMate is
TiviMate is an IPTV player for Android TV devices: Android TV and Google TV boxes and televisions, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, and Fire TV sticks through sideloading. It reads M3U and Xtream Codes playlists, accepts XMLTV guide sources, and is known above all for its guide grid: fast, dense, keyboard-free, the closest thing to a cable box on a streaming device.
The free version covers the basics. The premium version, unlocked through a separate "companion" app on a phone, adds catch-up, recording to local storage, multi-view (several channels on one screen), and a long list of customizations: guide layout, channel groups, favorites, reminders, parental controls, remote button mapping.
It is a very good piece of software, kept up to date for years, and on an Android TV box it is a reasonable default.
Why it will not come to Apple
TiviMate is built on Android's TV framework and its developer has never published an iOS or tvOS version. That is a product decision, not a temporary gap: the app is designed around a D-pad and a 10-foot interface, and an Apple version would be a second product. Nothing suggests it is coming.
Two consequences. First, any page offering "TiviMate for iPhone" or "TiviMate on Apple TV" is either a different app using the name or an APK site that cannot help an Apple device. The honest reading: if recording, multi-view or a guide for an M3U playlist are daily needs, TiviMate on an Android box is the better tool, and the Android TV guide covers that side. If what you want is a player that tells you why it does not work, follows your account from the phone to the TV, and warns you before the subscription lapses, that is what IPTV Guard was built for, on the devices TiviMate does not reach.
Running both
Nothing stops a household from running TiviMate on the Android box and IPTV Guard on the Apple TV and the phones, with the same provider login. Playlists are not exclusive to an app. The only shared constraint is the subscription's connection limit: two players on one login still count as two viewers when both are playing.
Moving from an Android box to Apple
The switch is the same as any change of player: your login travels, your favorites and resume points do not.
